Week one The Arrival

To be honest, I did not get what actually is it talking about, but I get the whole idea of it. It probably is because this is my first time to read a comic that without words, it is pretty interesting to me to read this kind of comic. I think it gives the reader a lot more space to think about what exactly the story is in the details, but the reader has to figure it out by themselves. So 100 reader could have 100 different explanations of what is the author want to show the readers.  The whole story, in my opinion, is really interesting, the author uses a lot of exaggeration to represent the idea, such as use a lot of strong contrast to represent the fantasy city. Also, use a lot of dark tones to represent the place that people work. And that gives me a really strong feeling of the stressful of the whole city, and that makes me think of the life of the protagonist is not that easy in the new fancy city, but the reason he is there probably just gives his family that he "carries in his case" a better life, and I can tell how much he loves his family.
In the story, I have noticed that there are a lot of birds that are flying around upper in the sky over the city, they look like pigeons to me, and the pigeons are the symbolizes of love and peace, and most of the time it means the beautiful life that everyone in that city is dream of. But the truth is not as good as people's imaginations.
Overall I think I kind of like this kind of comic but at the same time I probably not like that much, because it gives a lot of space to the reader to imagine what is going on there, but to me, that is little too much, I think when I read a comic is because I want to relax more, and reading this kind of comic is force me to think a lot, so that is the point that why I like it but at the same time not that much.
